How is the course structured?
The course has two components: online lessons and coach calls. The online component consists of a structured series of video-based webisodes or lessons which you can take at your own pace and convenience. Some webisodes aim to help you understand the format and the evaluation criteria of each part of the IELTS Speaking test. Others focus on improving your speaking skill, pronunciation and expanding your vocabulary. Coach calls need to be scheduled with one of our expert coaches.
To ensure a structured approach to the preparation, the modules are arranged linearly, with only one module unlocked at a time. The current module would need to be finished (with some also requiring a minimum score of 60%) to access the next one. For example, you would need to score 60% in a webisode to book a Coach Call (which would be the next module). Then, you might have to upload an assignment to view the next webisode, and so on.

What are Coach Calls?
An IELTS expert will be assigned to you as your very own IELTS Coach! You will be able to schedule Coach Calls at your convenience. Each of these one-on-one calls focuses on practising the skills learnt in the webisodes and on how to use these effectively in the IELTS. The calls consist of activities such as role-plays, discussions, and presentations. You will receive personalised feedback from your coach, to help you develop your vocabulary, pronunciation and other aspects based on your strengths and weaknesses.
You might be expected to complete an assignment after some calls, which you would need to complete before scheduling you next call, and the Coach will also give you relevant feedback on your assignment on the next call. Some worksheets (vocabulary and phrases lists) would also be shared with you to help your preparation.
Notes:
1) The duration of each Coach Call would be approximately 30 minutes. Call slots can be booked on Mondays to Saturdays, between 10 am and 7 pm, and each 30-minute slot is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We are working to add more time slots for Coach calls.
2) The calls will be video calls over the internet and you will be able to join a call at the scheduled time from your course dashboard.
