How is the course structured?

The course has 3 components - Coach Calls, Online Course and LIVE Classes.

The self-learning online course will be divided into 8 units, one for each week. You will be expected to complete 1 unit per week. 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week is the recommended effort to cover the entire course! This course has 218 short webisodes on various topics, with 30 hours worth of learning content.

A week-by-week brief description of the online course:

• Week 1: Introducing yourself (Talking about strengths & weaknesses, your interests, etc.)
• Week 2: English for Everyday Conversations (Apologising, enquiring, explaining things, short phone conversations, expressing opinions, pronunication, etc.)
• Week 3: Formal Communication 1 (Persuading, Negotiating, etc.) 
• Week 4: Formal Communication 2 (Handling meetings, Giving feedback, etc.)
• Week 5: Informal Communication - Socialising (Giving suggestions/advice, exchanging ideas, discussing, etc.)
• Week 6: Daily Conversations 
• Week 7: Everyday Grammar - Part 1
• Week 8: Everyday Grammar - Part 2

What are Coach Calls?

An expert English Trainer will be assigned to you as your very own English Coach! You will be able to book 8 one-on-one sessions with our expert Coaches. You can schedule Coach Calls at your convenience, and during each call, an aspect of speaking in English (accent, pronunciation, intonation, etc.) would be covered. You would be expected to complete an assignment after each call, and the Coach will be giving you relevant feedback on the next call. 

Note: The duration of each Coach Call would be approximately 30 minutes. Call slots can be booked on Monday to Saturday, between 10 am and 9 pm, and each 30-minute slot is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The calls will be audio calls over the internet and you will be able to join a call at the scheduled time from your course dashboard. 

What are LIVE Classes?

With STEP's LIVE Class, you would be able to see the trainer LIVE, ask questions LIVE, and participate in polls and chat LIVE, all from the comfort of your home! All you would need to do is ensure a stable internet connection, and login at the scheduled time on STEP, and we'll make sure you learn something new in the next one hour. If you miss a LIVE session, or if you just want to revisit a lesson, you can always see the recorded session, any number of times!

Your LIVE classes will begin on 2nd April 2024 and will be conducted on 8 consecutive Tuesdays between 7 pm and 8 pm. The focus would be on conversational language. The schedule/topics are as follows:
