This was the theme of the <strong>MIT LINC Conference <\/strong>held at Boston on June 2019. The conference brought together a group of international practitioners to discuss the power of digital platforms to deliver quality learning at scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP presented a paper reporting insights on <strong>\u201cMeeting the English Learning Needs of the Indian Learner\u201d. <\/strong>&nbsp;<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/PjwADIr6AGUjIhdzlH71xhOP5R4XV4AmMpmSV1-uhrLLuUy2kwt6z8aCizo4demxD7oCgi4zIJKDxE5jM3U_GO-XemVfyntRDwghU7xeElaKobLFKe7nZv_Ba4xsxDW6CsISAdq4\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1080px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1080\/1080;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the improvement of an average of 20% in the test group administered with STEP training, STEP proposed a framework of design principles for effective language learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/8L7UOW0rLygKC2bj5J-AqRGUsSAE9WEOpKF25ZD1-VLny64nWTTbte9VeZK0eZ2sBSccOywUJDYKJkR-ZhcaQBO03FKwG820TaBFrh-AFnUa2ZaPrdb6ngBAU8tQi_sAQWgBjQTA\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1080px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1080\/1080;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Designing an easy entry for low-skilled learners and a highly adaptive platform for high-skilled learners were two key principles.&nbsp; In addition, Blended learning (using more than one mode of teaching) was presented as a key design principle that was found to encourage effective learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/N9nEgl_8-VQX7jQJKON8bi3RoJK2w6vEPUNacGDUaRDHdP8aBDBNr6a1Qy-Zy2muXxKOOywL1rl8Ql5GuMUEefh1kZmLlzF8EbyWsGcZ3Q7u2py5f3LWUpwDLhnTSnIfNcb_H62J\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1080px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1080\/1080;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP learning platforms are based on these principles. <a href=\"https:\/\/step.thehindu.com\/product\/steplearn\">STEP Learn<\/a> provides an easy entry point for beginners \u2013 while also providing challenging learning points for advanced users.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/step.thehindu.com\/product\/steplive\">STEP Live<\/a> is a live classroom which allows the user to interact directly with the learner. <a href=\"https:\/\/step.thehindu.com\/product\/stepcoach\">STEP Coach<\/a> provides personalized English coaching over the phone.
